A friend remembered through action.

In the quiet town of Jassur, nestled in Nurpur tehsil of Himachal Pradesh, a group of friends turned grief into purpose. Nikhil Rajput, affectionately known as Garry, was just 22 when he tragically lost his life in an accident, days before India's COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.

Garry had gone to help a dialysis patient reach the hospital when the accident occurred. His passing left a deep void, but his friends chose to fill that void with service.

01 A dream to help

Garry had always dreamed of starting an NGO to support people in need.

02 First act of care

Inspired by him, his friends began distributing essential kits during lockdown.

03 400 homes reached

Their first effort supported 400 households at a time of fear and uncertainty.

04 A foundation was born

The work grew into Garry Cares Foundation, formally registered in September 2021.

The birth of Garry Cares Foundation

From a tribute to a five-year journey of service.

In March 2020, Garry's friends began carrying his vision forward. Led by friends including Ankit Verma and Varun, the early work focused on food, essentials and urgent support for families struggling during lockdown.

Since then, the foundation has continued its mission to uplift the underserved through medical aid, food distribution, education support, dignity campaigns and emergency assistance, always in Garry's name.

Emergency care A young girl's life was saved

One early case involved a young girl bitten by a snake. Her family could not afford the Rs. 4 lakh needed for treatment. The foundation rallied social media support and raised Rs. 6 lakh.

Dignity support Marriage help for daughters

The foundation supports girls from low-income families with dignity-focused assistance.
